#100happydays

If you follow me on Twitter (@ninjagymnast18), then you know that I am doing the 100 Happy Days challenge. 100happydays.com The point of this challenge is to appreciate the things in life that make you happy and realize that even on your worst days, there is always something good.
And, for me, that's exactly what this challenge has done. I am currently on Day 33 and I am honestly loving the outlook it has given me. No matter how bad my day seems, there is ALWAYS something to be happy about.
I think it's good for people to realize the good in their life because a lot of it is things we take for granted, such as a roof over our head, an education, and simple things such as food, clothing, and clean water. We are very lucky to live the way we do.
There are two things that keep us from being happy: living in the past and observing others. Living in the past can drag you down. What's behind you doesn't matter, the future is what needs to be focused on. You can change your past, but you have control of your future. Don't hold on to what happened back in the day, and never ever regret anything. Let it go and look forward. It might hurt, but it will lead to great results. Observing others might sound sort of stupid, but when you really think about it, it really does drag you down. When you see other people living a better life than you feel like you're living, it makes you jealous. You can't let that jealousy control you though. You have to keep your eyes on what's for you. Not what God gave other people, or what the devil wants you to see. It's all about you.
Another thing that ruins our happiness is depending on other people too much. I know I talk about this a lot, but it's one of my biggest struggles. You can't, can't, can't depend on other people for your happiness. They will let you down and leave you feeling like a piece of crap. Your happiness is in your hands. You control it all.
The secret to being happy is accepting where you are in life and making the best of every day. Life is short, so you should make the best out of every situation, always be happy, smile when you can, and laugh as much as you breathe.
