What To Do When You Feel Like Your World Is Falling Apart

Image
So obviously you feel like your world is falling apart, or else you  wouldn't be here on this blog right now.  Sometimes in life, things go wrong that you can't understand and that is 100% OK. Whether its from a relationship, a friendship, a job, or any other situation, here are a few things you can do to make yourself feel better. 1.  Look At Your Relationship With God           The number one reason why you probably have no hope left is because you have put more effort into other aspects of your life than you have into your personal relationship with God.  Think of this less as a tragedy and more as a wake up call.  God is calling you to come back to him.  You have to take more time to pray and read the Bible and make Him your number one priority again. 2.  Look At What Went Wrong           Take a step back and really think abou...

10 Guidelines For Dating

Image
In our world today, dating is a pretty common thing.  However, there is a difference between dating in a worldly way and in a Godly manner.  Below is a list of 10 guidelines for dating in a way acceptable in God's sight. Find your self worth in God before getting into a relationship. Don't date to feel good about yourself. "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."  -Matthew 6:21 Use your brain in all circumstances. "Those who walk in wisdom come through safely."  -Proverbs 26:26 The healthiest relationship are those in which the similarities far outweigh the differences. "Bad company ruins good morals."  -1 Corinthians 15:33 Take it slow. "Guide my steps as you promised; don't let sin control me." -Psalm 119:133 All  healthy relationships require good, solid, and well-defined boundaries. You...

Love: What It Is & What It Isn't

Image
Throughout the Bible, God shows us what real love is.  Through Jesus 's life, we are shown how to love others.  In our world today, love is defined as "an intense feeling of deep affection." However, based on the love God teaches us, l ove is not a noun to be defined, but a verb to be acted upon.  1  John 3:18 says,  "Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth." In  1 Corinthians 13:4-8, we are told the truth about what love is.  Love is: patient kind selfless unending truthful protecting trusting hopeful unfailing modest  unconditional Love isn't: jealous envious easily angered rude boastful proud selfish dishonoring           One thing I was told a few months ago that I think is one of the neatest things ever is to place the name of a person such as your boyfriend or girlfriend into th...

Repent

Image
"A Christian isn't a man who never goes wrong, but a man who is enabled to repent."  -C.S. Lewis            I want to start this post by looking at the definition of repent. Repent 1. feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one's wrongdoing or sin. 2. view or think of (an action or omission) with deep regret or remorse. 3. feel regret or penitence about           One thing that I have always thought was that I should never regret  anything. I should live everyday being happy with my life and if I am filled with shame and regret there is no way that I can be a happy person.           However, Acts 3:19 says, " Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out ." We can see that God tells us to repent and the  definition of repent clearly says to feel regret in all three definitions above. So how can you repent your sin...

From The Ground Up

Image
If you haven't noticed yet, I get a lot of my ideas from seeing things and hearing things.  For example, I was listening to a song on my Country Pandora station and the song "From The Ground Up" by Dan  + Shay came on.  Totally not what you would call a Christian song, but what came to mind when I heard it was amazing.  So the song says: Beside you I'll stand through the good and the bad We'll give all that we have And we'll build this love from the ground up           As I heard these lyrics, my first thought was "Oh, that's like our relationship  with God."   Think about "Jack and the Beanstalk" and how the beanstalk grew straight up into the clouds.   We start at the bottom with God and we must build our way up to Him in His spot in Heaven.  Each step we  take  in the right direction, the closer we get to Him.          ...

How we as Christians should respond to ISIS

ISIS is a popular topic in today's news. Over 170,000 deaths have been recorded and they aren't finished yet. People all over the world are worried and scared. Here's how we should respond to ISIS as Christians. -They are proof of the devil's work.           ISIS is driven by the devil's power. They represent lost individuals who have been tricked into believing a lie. Satan's power mixed with the evil nature of humans can create the worst situations imaginable. -They will get what they deserve.           God knows everyone's motives and actions, and He will give each person what they deserve. Psalm 28:4 says, "Repay them for their deeds and for they evil work; repay them for what their hands have done and bring back on them what they deserve." -What we can do as Christians.           As Christians, we can use our Bibles to fight back. I re...

EXCITING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!! FT. THE WATER PROJECT!

Image
I've decided to start a campaign to raise money for a charity!! I had been looking for a charity to support for a while, but none of them really stuck out to me as the one I wanted to choose. As I was looking one day,  the song Oceans by Hillsong UNITED was running through  my head. I came across The Water Project and started reading about it. And I knew immediately that was the charity I had been looking for!         Water plays a huge role in each our lives. Water affects our health, education, and many other things. Nearly 1 billion people across the planet do not have access to clean, safe water. We don’t realize how lucky we are to have clean water in our homes and cities.  Watch the video and check out their website to learn more: thewaterproject.org      My goal is to raise $60,000 which will sponsor 5 entire projects.  If you would like to donate  click here to donate th...

Changing Life

One of the greatest things I think I've ever heard is that YOU can't change someone's life. God has to do that. No matter how hard you try to convince them to be better, God is the One who decides if it happens or not. He has to open up their heart to what you are saying. God may choose you to be the deliverer of His Word to them or He may have a better idea to open their eyes to the Truth. Whether it's your best friend, your boyfriend, or someone else, you can't change their ways unless God has it in His plan for them.      You can try all you want, but after a while of spending time with them, their unholiness will start to take over your life instead. While you may want to be the light for them, their darkness is slowly putting out your fire. You're getting contaminated by them.      So even if they are your boyfriend or best friend, it's time to take a break from them. If they aren't living for God they are probably holding you bac...
