The Bigger Picture

Good morning from the clouds! I am currently flying to New York City with my drill team! So exciting! Here's a picture of my current view:
Let's take it back to the beginning. The VERY beginning. You know like, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters."
It's hard to believe that the earth used to be a dark, empty place. The beautiful place we see now, once did not exist. God said "Let there be light, let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water, let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear, let the land produce vegetation, let there be lights in the sky to separate the day from the night and to give light to the earth, let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth, let the land produce living creatures, and last but not least, let us make man in our image and let them rule over all the earth. And that's exactly what happened. He created day and night, the sky, the land, and the seas, vegetation, seasons, days, and years, sea creatures and birds, animals, and humans. He created them all in a matter of 7 days. How amazing is that!
I think the view out of a plane window is one of the most beautiful things you will ever see. It's seeing God's wonderful masterpiece from a different viewpoint. One of the things I think we miss the most in life is the bigger picture. There's more to things than we know. You probably never knew there was more to the world until you looked out a plane window. You probably never knew there was more to someone's struggling until you heard the whole story. You probably never knew there was more to math equations until you sat down in an upper level math class. There's so much more to life that we don't even know about. Sometimes you just have to take a step back and look at the bigger picture to truly understand things.
Proverbs 30 says, "There are three things that are too amazing for me, four that I do not understand: the way of an eagle in the sky, the way of a snake on a rock, the way of a ship on the high seas, and the way of a man with a maiden." I've always read this verse and never really understood the point in it. I think this fits this post pretty well because there are so many amazing things on the earth that we don't quite understand. I don't understand how God created something so awesome in just a few days, but He is an awesome God. I don't understand how or why He always provides for us and never leaves us no matter how bad we screw up. He loves us with His whole heart. That's truly amazing! And as He said, "You may not know now what I am doing, but someday you will," and when our time comes, it will finally all make sense.
Keep the bigger picture in mind.
